Wet N Wild Toga Party: On Friday August 5th, we roused that fat Dionysis with a backyard balloon-fight to the death.
The Fly by Night was commissioned to create a short film set to The Great Escape, a composition by Matt Entwistle. Because, traditionally, the film comes before the film score, this was an interesting idea. We quickly abandoned the inspiration for the music (our daily electronics) in favor of something far more visual and startling: a photograph of three women celebrating. Find the film here and a review of its premiere here.

A week of Almodovar coverage. Why? Because Almodovar has built a cinematic shrine to fleeting moments & quick good-byes between strangers - our bread and butter here at TFBN. But also because he was once a phone salesman, and forever a fully-saturated fauve, a tango lover, and always suspicious of nuns.

Casa Malaparte: For a week, TFBN fixed it's layabout gaze on Casa Malaparte, an orange villa with a staircase for a roof in the Isle of Capri. The fruits? A comparison between The Count of Monte Cristo and writer Curzio Malaparte, a reaction to Palazzo Chupi, an explanation of the home as portrait, and an art roundup.

The Hoax: Issue II - Fancying myself a bit of a rogue (myself = Stela Xhiku, btw. You guys know it's me back here right?) with the resourcefulness of ten Macauley Culkins, the gross smirk of Dennis the Menace, and all the confidence of the Nelson Mandela sign language interpreter, I dedicated TFBN's second volume to The Hoax. Don't waste another moment! Read it here! Or watch the introductory video.
