Norwegian ceramist, Christine Viennet, only answers the big questions. Take her fascination with the sea, for example: "The water, the oceans and their depths [--] a world still so mysterious and with such an unprecedented diversity that my intuitive approach to it surprises me every day."
If not intuitive, her approach is, at the very least, familiar; she has set a dining-room table with mussels, oysters, fish heads and all that crawls the deep-sea, giving the untamable waters a particular realism.
We've featured her creations in our upcoming Siren Issue (out soon!) Give 'em a browse, yeah?
"[The Earth] does not readily tell it's secrets. The fire that transforms is a demanding and miraculous one. All ceramists are exposed to the humility, dream and passion that encourages progress."
