Christy Lee, a graduate from Parsons in 2012, has a quality of craftsmanship that is beyond her years. Her rooster collection has granted her as a finalist in Parson's TheFancy competition and a window display at the swanky Saks Fifth Avenue.
This collection would probably scare my mother, who used to be pursued by her family's rooster during her childhood in rural Brazil. But there's no need to worry, mom — It'll be difficult to run anywhere with that over-sized backpack.
"A menswear collection inspired by the ubiquitous and unassuming Chicken, and the cultural space it occupies through out the world. The garments incorporate the eye-catching, physical particulars of the chicken to create fun details. Examples of this include: use of red accents, clean finishes and trip, extended hems to emulate the tail plumage, and slim leg profiles coupled with plump upper silhouettes."
Lee's Rooster collection refers to poultry without being too literal. As a result, her clothes are wearable for the every day dude. We would have appreciated some red combs on the models heads, though...
