Guidol's work shows a love of fantasy, where color and figures merge into a world of mystery, dominated by emotionally miserable subjects and scenes of motherhood. He is influenced by the surrealist themes and forms of Pablo Picasso during his blue and Rose periods.

While some painters' subjects stand separate from the canvas, his subjects retain physically, and visually, within the paint and canvas itself.

As a result, Guidol emphasizes his subjects' three dimensionality and ability to actually stand out from the painting by putting flat colors and three dimensional subjects side by side.
