While I was digging through the dark and adolescent depths of the Tumblr world, I came upon an illustration from Thunderpaw, an animated comic book created by Jen Lee about two dogs trying to find their way home while the world is crumbling around them. This "digital adventure" kicks your typical super hero comics out of the water because of it's careful color choices that creates an anxious, yet aesthetically pleasing, world.
Reaching Cartoon Network status, one forgets that they are reading the pages of an online comic book and not staring at the ol' tube. Her illustrations beautifully combine an innocent appeal with a macabre and sci-fi attitude, making the story even more engaging. As much as I love a canvas, it is quite exciting to find creative minds incorporating technology into their work in new and beautiful ways.
Fortunately for you readers, the story of Ollie and Bruno has only just started. Thunderpaw is only a few pages into their magical adventure, so follow Jen Lee on twitter for updates on this classic heroic tail (that pun was so intended it almost hurts).
